**Julana, Haryana:** In a major upset, Olympic wrestler Vinesh Phogat, contesting on a Congress ticket, has won the Julana Assembly seat in Haryana, defeating BJP candidate Yogesh Bairagi. The counting of votes concluded earlier today, with Phogat securing a victory by a margin of over 6000 votes.
The Julana seat was considered a hot contest, with Phogat entering the fray in her first ever electoral race. The seat was previously held by Amarjeet Dhanda of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), who had defeated the BJP candidate in 2019.
Despite initial close competition, Phogat managed to secure a comfortable lead as the counting progressed. The final results showed Phogat receiving 65080 votes against Bairagi’s 59065 votes.
