**Jhajjar, Haryana:** Voting is underway in four Assembly constituencies of Jhajjar district in Haryana. As of 1 pm, the voter turnout was recorded at 46.93%. The turnout in Badli was recorded at 39%, while Bahadurgarh saw a turnout of 33%.
Notable figures who exercised their franchise included Bronze medallist at the Paris Olympics, Manu Bhaskar, who voted with his family. Wrestler Sangita Phogat also cast her vote. Former Speaker of the Haryana Assembly, Dr. Raghuveer Kaghan, also participated in the voting process.
A total of 42 candidates are contesting the elections in the district. Jhajjar has 11 candidates, Badli has 9, Beri has 8, and Bahadurgarh has 14.
The Badli constituency is witnessing a close contest between Kuldeep Vats of the Congress and Om Prakash Dhankhad of the BJP. In Jhajjar, the battle is between BJP’s Captain Singh Birhana and Congress’s Geeta Bhukkal.
