**Faridabad, October 5:** Early trends in the Faridabad Assembly elections show the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in a strong position, leading in four out of six constituencies after six rounds of counting.
In the key Faridabad constituency, BJP candidate Vipul Goel is leading against Congress’s Lakhan Kumar Singla by a comfortable margin of 13,188 votes. BJP’s Rajesh Nagar is also leading in Tigaon by 4,825 votes.
Dhanesh Adlakha of the BJP is leading in Badkhal by a margin of 4,683 votes. However, Congress candidates Raghuveer Teotia and Neeraj Sharma are currently ahead in Prithla and NIT constituencies respectively.
The BJP had won four of the six seats in the previous election, with Congress securing the NIT seat and an independent candidate winning Prithla. This time, the Congress has fielded new candidates in four of the six constituencies, while the AAP is also contesting all seats. The election results are expected to be declared by 1 p.m. today.
This election sees a tight contest between the BJP and Congress in this urban region, with the outcome likely to be influenced by the presence of the AAP. The Faridabad district, with over 1.7 million voters, is a significant area of focus in the state elections.
