**Chandigarh:** The Haryana Assembly election results have taken a dramatic turn, with the BJP surging ahead and the Congress’s initial lead evaporating. As of now, the BJP leads in 43 seats, while the Congress is ahead in 40.

The Congress, which initially had a commanding lead of 67 seats, now faces a serious setback. The BJP, which was initially struggling with only 12 seats, is now poised to form the government with a comfortable majority.

The contest in the Julana constituency has also seen a major shift, with AAP candidate Kavita Dalal taking the lead from wrestler Vinesh Phogat.

The results are causing alarm in the Congress camp, with celebrations at the AICC headquarters coming to a halt.

Meanwhile, in Jammu and Kashmir, the Congress-NC alliance continues to lead in 50 seats. The CPI(M) candidate, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, is leading in Kulgam. The BJP leads in 24 seats, while the PDP holds a lead in 4 seats.

These results have sparked concerns about the Governor’s nomination power and its potential to influence the outcome of the election in Jammu and Kashmir.
