Tue Oct 08 16:59:27 UTC 2024: ## BJP Sweeps Haryana’s Southern Districts in Surprise Victory

**Faridabad, Haryana:** In a stunning upset, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a resounding victory in the southernmost districts of Haryana, winning 7 out of 9 seats in Faridabad and Palwal. This comes despite widespread reports of anti-incumbency sentiment.

The BJP’s main rival, the Congress, managed to secure only 2 seats, a slight improvement from their performance in the last assembly election.

The BJP’s victory was apparent from the start of the vote counting. Vipul Goel clinched the Faridabad seat with a significant margin of 48,388 votes over Congress’ Lakhan Kumar Singla. Similarly, Rajesh Nagar of BJP comfortably secured the Tigaon segment.

Notable wins include Satish Kumar Fagna, who defeated experienced Congress MLA Neeraj Sharma by a margin of 33,217 votes in the NIT segment. Sitting MLA and Cabinet Minister Mool Chand Sharma achieved a hat-trick from the Ballabgarh seat.

The Congress party found solace in retaining only the Prithla seat in Faridabad, with Raghubir Singh Tewatia winning over BJP’s Tek Chand Sharma.

In Palwal, BJP’s Gaurav Gautam won with a margin of 33,605 votes, while Harinder Singh defeated Udai Bhan, president of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, by a slender margin of 2,595 votes. Mohammed Israil of Congress emerged victorious from the Hathin segment.

The BJP’s victory is a significant achievement, especially considering the party had expelled 8 leaders from Haryana for contesting as Independents.

The results have sent shockwaves across the political landscape, with many experts now questioning the initial predictions of a tough battle for the BJP in the region.
