**Kochi:** Actress Pragya Martin has faced backlash after posting a seemingly mocking Instagram story following her name being mentioned in a police remand report related to a drug case.
Martin’s Instagram story features a framed board with the words “Hahaha, Hihihi, Huhuhu…” written on it. This has been interpreted by many as a sarcastic response to being implicated in the case.
The police report, connected to a drug case against notorious gangster Om Prakash, mentions both Martin and actor Sreenath Bhasi. The police have claimed that both actors were among the 20 people who attended a drug party hosted by Om Prakash. The room was booked under the name Bobby Chalapathi.
While the court granted bail to both Om Prakash and the main accused Shihas, the prosecution was unable to prove that the accused had consumed cocaine. They were only able to recover a packet of cocaine from the scene. The police had requested a 2-day custodial interrogation of the accused, which the court denied.
Following Martin’s post, her recent Instagram photoshoots and videos have been flooded with negative comments, many of which criticize her appearance and question her character. Comments include “I had doubts about Pragya’s hair and dressing style”, “Will you and Bhasi end up in jail?”, “You were flying around for no reason, right?”, and “Happy journey to jail”.
The actress is yet to respond to the public backlash or the allegations against her.
