Tue Oct 08 14:01:13 UTC 2024: ## Kejriwal Challenges Modi to Offer Free Electricity in BJP-Ruled States
**New Delhi, October 7:** Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to offer free electricity in all 22 states ruled by the BJP and its allies. Kejriwal, during a ‘Janata Ki Adalat’ rally in Delhi on Sunday, stated that he would campaign for the BJP if they implement free electricity across these states.
He further challenged the BJP to conduct Delhi Assembly elections in November, coinciding with the Maharashtra and Jharkhand polls, scheduled for the same month. Kejriwal pointed out that Delhi elections are due in February 2025.
Holding six packets of sweets representing free electricity, free water, free travel for women in buses, free travel for senior citizens, free healthcare, and free education – all schemes implemented by the Delhi government – Kejriwal urged citizens to accept these benefits as “prasad.” He warned that voting for the BJP would lead to the discontinuation of these free schemes.
Kejriwal accused the BJP of plans to privatize the Delhi Transport Corporation, government schools, and hospitals if they were to come to power in Delhi. He also criticized the BJP’s “double engine” government model, claiming it has only resulted in “double exploitation, double corruption, inflation, and unemployment” in the states.
Recalling his imprisonment during the Delhi riots, Kejriwal alleged that his insulin supply was deliberately stopped, putting his life in danger due to kidney damage.
