**Hisar, October 5, 2024:** The Hisar district administration, under the leadership of District Election Officer (DEO) Pradeep Dahiya, has taken comprehensive measures to ensure a free, fair, transparent, and peaceful conduct of the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024.
On Thursday evening, 1333 polling parties were dispatched to their respective polling booths across the seven assembly constituencies in the district. The deployment was overseen by Hisar SP Deepak Saharan, Hansi SP Maksood Ahmed, and the Returning Officers of all seven assembly segments.
DEO Dahiya stressed the paramount importance of conducting the election with absolute fairness and transparency, emphasizing that any negligence would not be tolerated. He highlighted the presence of webcasting cameras at all polling booths for real-time monitoring of activities. To prevent unauthorized entry and maintain order, a 200-meter perimeter around each polling station will be enforced.
The DEO also confirmed that adequate arrangements have been made for the secure return of EVMs and other election materials after the voting process concludes. He instructed the General Manager of Haryana State Transport Department to ensure the smooth operation of bus services throughout the night to facilitate the return of polling staff.
Prior to the commencement of voting at 7 am on October 5, a mock poll will be conducted at all 1333 booths. This will be followed by signature verification by the agents before the actual voting process begins.
Over 13 lakh voters in the district will exercise their franchise on Saturday. Of these, 7.24 lakh are male voters, and 6.39 lakh are female voters. The district has set up 1333 polling booths, including 496 critical booths.
The DEO emphasized the importance of voter awareness, reiterating the need for them to carry a valid photo ID, including voter ID cards, Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, driving licenses, or other specified documents, to be able to cast their votes.
He also cautioned against the use of mobile phones inside polling booths and assured strict action against any violation of this rule.
The administration has meticulously planned and deployed all necessary resources, including micro-observers at each booth, and has set up model booths, pink booths, youth booths, and booths for differently-abled voters in each assembly segment.
Master trainers have provided comprehensive hands-on training to all polling staff on the operation of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and VVPATs, ensuring a seamless voting process.
