Tue Oct 08 02:13:02 UTC 2024: ## Tight Security Measures in Place for Haryana Election EVMs in Hisar
**Hisar, October 6, 2024:** With the Haryana Assembly elections concluding on Saturday, October 5th, the counting of votes is scheduled for October 8th. To ensure the integrity of the voting process, the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been sealed and placed under tight security in a strong room in Hisar.
Superintendent of Police, Mr. Deepak Saharan, highlighted the multi-layered security measures implemented for the safekeeping of the EVMs. The strong room is secured by three layers of security personnel. The first layer comprises paramilitary forces, followed by the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) personnel in the second layer. The third layer consists of Hisar police personnel.
Round-the-clock patrolling parties have been deployed to monitor the strong room, and checkpoints have been set up on all roads leading to the facility. No entry will be granted to anyone without proper identification and a valid reason for accessing the strong room until the counting process is complete.
To further strengthen security, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Havinder Singh, has been appointed as the nodal officer for the strong room. He is assisted by seven inspectors. All station house officers and beat officers have been instructed to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
Recognizing the potential for tensions between candidates and their supporters after the election results, police have issued instructions to all station house officers to respond promptly to any reported incidents.
The comprehensive security measures implemented for the EVMs demonstrate the commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent election process in Haryana.
