Mon Oct 07 13:31:33 UTC 2024: ## Forgotten Man Makes Triumphant Return to Indian T20 Squad

**Gwalior, India:** Varun Chakravarthy, who had seemingly fallen off the radar after playing only six T20 Internationals in 2021, made a sensational comeback to the Indian team on Sunday, claiming three wickets in his first T20I match in over three years.

The 33-year-old mystery spinner, who was included in the squad thanks to new head coach Gautam Gambhir, replaced Ravi Bishnoi in the starting XI against Bangladesh and made an immediate impact, dismissing dangerous batsman Towhid Hridoy in his first over after the powerplay.

“It feels nice to be back in the Blues, it feels like a rebirth,” Chakravarthy said after the match. “I just want to stick to the process because that’s what I’ve been following in the IPL. I don’t want to get ahead of myself; I want to stay in the present.”

Chakravarthy’s return was fueled by a renewed commitment to the game and a change in his bowling style. After consistently being omitted from the national team, he dedicated himself to improving his game, transitioning from a side-spin bowler to an over-spin bowler, a change he says took over two years to perfect.

Despite the competitive nature of the squad, with Gambhir favoring rotation, Chakravarthy expressed appreciation for the camaraderie within the team, with Ravi Bishnoi even congratulating him after his impressive performance.

“There is good competition and there is good camaraderie also,” Chakravarthy said. “And the person who was cheering me was Ravi Bishnoi; he was coming and telling me messages, so I can’t ask for more.”

While Chakravarthy’s future in the team remains uncertain, his impressive comeback has sent a strong message to the selectors and Indian fans. He has proven that he is not just a forgotten man, but a determined cricketer ready to contribute to the national team’s success.
