Mon Oct 07 12:22:19 UTC 2024: ## Railway Board Reopens Applications for Technician Posts, Increases Vacancies

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced the reopening of the application process for Technician posts, with a significant increase in vacancies. The initial application period, which ran from March 9th to April 8th, 2024, saw 9,144 positions available. The board has now increased the number of vacancies by 5,154, bringing the total to 14,298 positions.

Candidates seeking to apply for Technician Grade 1 must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) or a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.Sc. Engineering), while those aiming for Technician Grade 3 should have completed their 10th grade and hold an ITI certificate.

The age limit for candidates is between 18 and 36 years, effective from July 1st, 2024. Relaxation in age limits will be provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

The application fee for general candidates is Rs 500, out of which Rs 400 will be refunded after the Computer Based Test (CBT). Reserved category candidates need to pay Rs 250, which will also be refunded after the CBT.

The selection process will be based on:

* Computer Based Test (CBT) Examination
* Document Verification
* Medical Examination

Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from Rs 19,900 to Rs 92,300, depending on the position.
