Sun Oct 06 21:10:00 UTC 2024: ## Pasco County Issues Mandatory Evacuations Ahead of Hurricane Milton
**Pasco County, FL** – Pasco County officials have ordered mandatory evacuations for residents in zones A and B, effective Monday at 10 a.m. The evacuations also include residents living in mobile homes, low-lying, and flood-prone areas. The county expects significant storm surge of 3 to 9 feet and rainfall totals of 5 to 10 inches, with localized totals reaching 15 inches, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Five shelters will open at noon on Monday, located at: Centennial Middle School, Fivay High School, Wesley Chapel High School, River Ridge Middle and High Schools, and Fasano Regional Hurricane Center (for special needs only).
County officials emphasized the seriousness of the situation, citing the potential impact of debris from Hurricane Helene on rescue efforts. “This is not a game,” said Emergency Management Director Andrew Fossa. “We encourage you to stay with friends and family, go to a local hotel, or seek shelter if necessary,” added County Administrator Mike Carballa.
Evacuations for residents in zone C will be optional. Residents can determine their zone by entering their address on pascocountyfl.net.
