Mon Oct 07 03:50:00 UTC 2024: ## India Dominates Bangladesh in Thrilling T20I Debut

**Gwalior:** India’s new-look T20I squad made a resounding statement, defeating Bangladesh by seven wickets in the first match of the three-match series. The victory was a testament to both India’s bowling prowess and their ability to chase down targets with ease.

The match began with Bangladesh struggling against a formidable Indian bowling attack, which included impressive performances from debutant Mayank Yadav and returning star Varun Chakaravarthy. Chakaravarthy, making his comeback after a three-year absence, bowled with exceptional variation, picking up three wickets. Arshdeep Singh, the left-arm pacer, was the pick of the bowlers, dismantling Bangladesh’s top order and ending with figures of 3/14.

India’s bowlers restricted Bangladesh to a paltry 127 runs, setting up a comfortable chase for the hosts. The chase was led by openers Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma, who provided a solid foundation before Hardik Pandya’s blistering 39 off 16 balls sealed the victory. Pandya, once again demonstrating his indispensable value to the team, showcased his all-round brilliance with both bat and ball.

This match highlighted the growing depth of India’s T20I squad, with new faces like Mayank Yadav and Nitish Reddy proving their mettle. The team’s formidable bowling attack, in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, further solidified India’s position as a force to be reckoned with in the shortest format.

The series win, with the remaining two matches scheduled to be played in the coming days, will give India valuable confidence as they begin their journey towards the 2026 T20 World Cup.
