Sun Oct 06 20:52:00 UTC 2024: ## India Dominate Bangladesh in First T20I, Take 1-0 Lead in Series

**Gwalior, India:** India began their three-match T20I series against Bangladesh with a convincing 7-wicket victory at the Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium on Sunday. The hosts chased down a modest target of 128 runs in just 11.5 overs, showcasing their batting prowess and securing a 1-0 lead in the series.

The Bangladesh batting lineup struggled to find any rhythm, losing their first two wickets within the first three overs. Arshdeep Singh, who was the pick of the Indian bowlers, dismissed both Liton Das (4) and Parvez (8) early on. The visitors never truly recovered from this shaky start, eventually being bundled out for 127 runs in 19.5 overs.

Varun Chakravarthy was another key performer for India, picking up three wickets, including the key scalp of Bangladesh captain Najmul Shanto (27).

India’s chase got off to a brisk start, with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson putting on a quickfire 25-run partnership for the first wicket. While Sharma was unfortunate to be run out after scoring 16 off just 7 balls, Samson (29) and Suryakumar Yadav (29) continued the momentum, with Yadav playing a captain’s knock.

However, it was the partnership between Nitish Rana (16) and Hardik Pandya (39) that sealed the deal for India. The duo’s 52-run stand ensured a comfortable win for the home team.

India’s bowling attack displayed impressive control, keeping the Bangladesh batsmen under constant pressure. The fielding was also sharp, with the team displaying good energy and athleticism on the field.

The series now shifts to Rajkot for the second T20I, with India looking to extend their lead and secure a series victory.
