**KOCHI:** Police are investigating the connection between film actors Sreenath Bhasi and Prayaga Martin and alleged gangster Om Prakash, who was arrested on Sunday for possessing cocaine and liquor.
Om Prakash, 45, and Shihas, 55, were apprehended at a hotel in Kochi’s Kundannoor where they had been staying since Saturday. Police discovered a small quantity of suspected cocaine and four liters of liquor in their hotel room, which they had booked under a false name.
Police investigations revealed that 20 individuals, including Sreenath Bhasi and Prayaga Martin, had visited Om Prakash’s hotel room.
According to the remand report, intelligence reports suggest that Om Prakash was involved in supplying cocaine from abroad and selling it at DJ parties in Ernakulam and other districts.
Although Om Prakash and Shihas were granted bail due to the small amount of cocaine seized, the police are determined to investigate the actors’ ties to the alleged gangster.
Om Prakash has been implicated in 30 criminal cases, including the 2009 murder of businessman Paul Muthoot George.
“We had information that he (Om Prakash) was in Kochi to supply drugs for a major DJ event,” said a senior police officer. “We will record the statements of actors and others who visited Om Prakash at the hotel in the coming days. A special team will be constituted to probe the case.”
