**Bengaluru, October 2nd:** A record number of 11,000 aspiring pilgrims from Karnataka have applied for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage, according to the State Hajj Committee. The lottery process to select pilgrims will be held on October 4th afternoon at the Central Hajj Committee.
The selected individuals will be notified via SMS shortly after the lottery concludes. While approximately 9,500 to 10,000 individuals were selected last year, officials anticipate an even greater number receiving the opportunity this year.
The state’s quota for Hajj pilgrims remains to be determined. The exact number will be finalized on the 4th, following which the Hajj Committee will begin further preparations.
