**Kochi:** Sreenath Bhasi, a prominent young actor in Malayalam cinema, finds himself entangled in another controversy as his name has emerged in connection with a drug case involving notorious gangster Omprakash. Police reports indicate that Bhasi, along with actress Prayaga Martin and around twenty others, were present at Omprakash’s hotel room in Kochi. The police suspect that a drug party might have taken place at the hotel.
Bhasi, who began his career as a DJ and singer, entered the film industry in 2011. His early films include “Pranayam,” “22 Female Kottayam,” “Arike,” and “Ustad Hotel.” He gained popularity among young audiences with movies like “Da Thadiya” and “Honey Bee.” His notable roles in hit films such as “Kumbalangi Nights,” “Virus,” “Ancham Paathira,” “Home,” and “Bheemante Vazhi” further cemented his position in Malayalam cinema.
However, alongside his success, Bhasi has been embroiled in several controversies. He faced allegations of misbehavior towards a YouTube channel host during an interview, leading to a police case filed against him. The case was later dismissed after the host withdrew the complaint and Bhasi apologized. Following the incident, the producers’ association also imposed a ban on him, which was lifted after two months.
