Sat Oct 05 22:49:41 UTC 2024: ## WWE’s “Bad Blood” Event Returns After Two Decades

WWE is bringing back its iconic “Bad Blood” event as a premium live event this year (2024), marking the event’s return after 20 years. Originally launched in October 1997 under the WWF banner as “Bad Blood: In Your House,” the event returned as a pay-per-view in June 2003 and continued for a year before disappearing from the WWE schedule.

The “Bad Blood” PPVs are known for their signature Hell in a Cell matches, and the event is expected to deliver some of the best Hell in a Cell bouts in WWE history.

**Iconic Matches from Past “Bad Blood” Events:**

* **2003:** Triple H successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Kevin Nash in a singles match with Mick Foley as the special guest referee. The match was filled with weapons, including a barbed wire slam that gave Nash the edge. However, Triple H used a sledgehammer and a steel chair to attack both Foley and Nash, ultimately delivering the Pedigree to Nash and forcing Foley to count the pin for Triple H’s victory.
* **2004:** Triple H battled Shawn Michaels in a brutal Hell in a Cell match, culminating in Triple H’s victory after a Pedigree. Michaels, who dominated much of the match, received a standing ovation after the bout.
* **1997:** The Undertaker faced Shawn Michaels in a Hell in a Cell match, with the winner going on to face Bret Hart for the WWF Championship at Survivor Series. Undertaker dominated the match, even fighting on top of the cell structure. However, Kane, making his debut, intervened and interfered with the match, allowing Michaels to win. This match received a five-star rating and was considered one of the greatest matches in WWE history until 2011.
