**Gwalior, India:** India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has confirmed the opening partnership for the first T20I against Bangladesh, set to take place on October 6 in Gwalior. The series, consisting of three matches, features a completely new Indian squad with none of the Test players selected for the shortest format.
Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson will be opening the innings for India in the series. “Sanju Samson will play and open the batting in this series going forward with Abhishek Sharma,” confirmed Suryakumar Yadav on the eve of the first T20I.
Yadav also commented on Mayank Yadav, another player in the squad, stating, “Mayank Yadav definitely has X factor. It’s important to manage him well and I am sure BCCI will do that.”
This T20I series marks the international debut for three uncapped players: Mayank Yadav, Harshit Rana, and Nitish Kumar Reddy. The Indian team is coming off a 2-0 Test series victory over Bangladesh, with the Test players either resting for the upcoming New Zealand series or participating in the Irani Cup.
