Sat Oct 05 21:09:21 UTC 2024: ## Netanyahu Slams Macron’s Call for Arms Embargo on Israel

**Jerusalem, October 28, 2023** – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned French President Emmanuel Macron’s call for an arms embargo on Israel during the ongoing conflict in Gaza. In a pre-recorded video, Netanyahu labeled Macron’s statement a “disgrace” and declared that Israel will “win with or without their support.”

Macron, in an interview with France Inter radio, had stressed the need for a political solution and halting the use of arms in Gaza. He clarified that France does not supply weapons to Israel, but called for a broader international effort to de-escalate the situation. He specifically voiced concern for Lebanon, emphasizing that the country should not be drawn into the conflict.

Netanyahu countered Macron’s statement, arguing that “countries who supposedly oppose [the axis of terror] call for an arms embargo on Israel.” He described Israel’s actions as defending civilization against a “dark age of fanaticism.”

While France is not a major supplier of weapons to Israel, it shipped military equipment worth €30 million last year, according to official reports.

Macron’s comments came as French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot embarked on a four-day Middle East tour, aimed at fostering diplomatic efforts in the region.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team is focusing on moving forward after their recent loss to New Zealand in the T20 World Cup. The team’s bowling coach emphasized the need for process, plans, and belief, while Jemimah Rodrigues acknowledged the team’s disappointment.
