**Emporia, KS** – The Madison Bulldogs showcased a dominant performance Friday night, crushing the Northern Heights Wildcats 48-2 in a lopsided Homecoming game. The Bulldogs scored early and often, showcasing a powerful offense and a stifling defense that left the Wildcats scrambling.
Colton Isch led the charge for Madison, rushing for six touchdowns and accumulating over 200 yards on the ground. He was supported by a strong offensive line and key contributions from teammates like Colten Luthi and Octavian Dean. Dean, in particular, had a standout game, both offensively and defensively.
Northern Heights struggled to find their footing throughout the game. Despite some initial success in the third quarter, the Wildcats were ultimately unable to overcome the Bulldogs’ aggressive defense. A series of missed opportunities, including a failed fourth-and-goal attempt and a blocked touchdown, compounded their woes.
“We pride ourselves on making teams have to snap the ball again and again,” said Madison Head Coach Nate Teichgraeber, praising his defense. “The more snaps you can make a team take to score, the more chances they have to make a mistake… We came up with some big plays when we needed to on the defensive side of the ball. Proud of the defensive effort all around.”
The victory marks a significant statement for the Madison Bulldogs, as they begin their season with a resounding win. The Wildcats, on the other hand, will look to regroup and find their momentum as they face their next opponent.
