Sun Oct 06 14:41:01 UTC 2024: ## India Dominates Bangladesh in Gwalior T20I Debut

**Gwalior, India:** India made a strong statement in the first T20I of the three-match series against Bangladesh, securing a dominant victory at the newly-constructed Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior.

Winning the toss, India opted to bowl first and quickly put Bangladesh on the back foot. Arshdeep Singh, known for his pace and swing, dismissed both Bangladesh openers, Litton Das and Parvez Hossain Emon, within the first three overs.

Spinner Varun Chakravarthy followed suit, claiming two wickets of his own, including the dangerous Towhid Hridoy, who looked to take the attack to India. Debutant Mayank Yadav also impressed, taking a wicket and bowling a maiden over in his first international appearance.

Bangladesh struggled to recover from the early blows, eventually finishing on 90/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

The series marks the beginning of a new era for India, with veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli absent. The team is now focused on the 2026 T20 World Cup and is looking to develop a new generation of talent. This first match highlighted the potential of youngsters like Mayank Yadav and Nitish Kumar Reddy, who also made his debut in the match.

The crowd in Gwalior was electric, creating a carnival atmosphere for the return of international cricket to the city after a 14-year absence. The new stadium, with its modern facilities, proved to be a perfect stage for this exciting clash.

India will be looking to secure a series win in the next two matches, while Bangladesh will be aiming to bounce back from their disappointing start.
