Sun Oct 06 16:12:12 UTC 2024: ## Bangladesh Eyes Aggressive T20 Win After Test Loss

**Gwalior, India** – Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to bounce back from a disappointing Test series loss against India by playing an aggressive brand of cricket in the upcoming T20 series.

“We are looking to win this series,” Shanto declared on Friday, emphasizing the team’s focus on a more aggressive approach. “We want to play aggressive cricket. If you look at our last World Cup, we had a very good opportunity to play in the semifinals but we couldn’t do that. But, it’s a new team, and I hope all the players will play some good cricket here.”

The skipper dismissed the recent Test series defeat, stating that the team is focused on the T20 format, which he acknowledged is a completely different game. “We all know we didn’t play our best cricket (in Tests). So, we are not thinking about what we have done before. Going forward, it’s a very important series for us and we all know in T20 it’s a totally different ball game.”

Both India and Bangladesh will field new-look teams for the series, with senior players replaced by younger talent. The series opener will take place on Sunday at the new Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior.

Shanto acknowledged the challenges of a new ground and an unfamiliar pitch, emphasizing the importance of adapting quickly. “We don’t know how the surface will behave. But, as an international team, we need to adjust as early as possible.”

Despite the uncertainties, Shanto remains optimistic about his team’s chances in the T20 series, highlighting the unpredictable nature of the format. “In T20Is, you never know. It’s important that on that day, batting, bowling, fielding, those who are doing all the stuff well, that team will win. But, it’s not about big names or new players or old players. So, it’s important that particular day we need to play well.”
