Sun Oct 06 15:37:32 UTC 2024: ## India Dominates Bangladesh in First T20I, Debutants Shine

Gwalior, India – In a resounding victory, India cruised past Bangladesh in the first T20I of the three-match series, held at the Madhavrao Scindia International Stadium in Gwalior. The match marked the return of international cricket to Gwalior after a 14-year hiatus, with the last match played here in 2010, where Sachin Tendulkar achieved the first double century in ODI history.

The Indian bowlers dominated from the start, restricting Bangladesh to a paltry 127 runs in 19.4 overs. Debutants Mayank Yadav and Nitish Kumar Reddy, who were given the opportunity by captain Suryakumar Yadav, contributed significantly to the victory.

Mayank Yadav, touted as an “X-factor” by the captain, struck early, claiming the wicket of Mahmudullah for just one run. He finished with a crucial wicket in his international debut.

Varun Chakravarthy was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets, including those of Rishad Hussain, Towhid Hridoy, and the dangerous Jaker Ali, who scored 8 runs off just 6 balls.

Arshdeep Singh also impressed, taking three wickets, including the crucial scalp of Liton Das in the first over. His impressive performance included the dismissal of Parvez Hussain Emon, further hindering Bangladesh’s progress.

Washington Sundar picked up the wicket of Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, who was dismissed for 27 runs off 25 balls.

In reply, Sanju Samson started India’s chase aggressively, smashing two boundaries in the first over. He narrowly escaped being caught out on the last ball of the over, which resulted in a boundary.

While the scorecard highlights a comprehensive win for India, the performance of the two debutants and the overall bowling dominance from the Indian side will be the talking points for the upcoming matches in the series.
