Sun Oct 06 00:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Key Hetauda-Kathmandu Road Reopens After Landslide Repairs
**Kathmandu, October 27, 2023** – The Hetauda-Bhimphedi-Kulekhani-Fakhel-Pharping road, a vital link between Hetauda and Kathmandu, is set to reopen on Sunday evening after being blocked for over a month due to landslides.
The road was closed since September 28th after landslides near Simkhola and Mahalaxmikhola. Extensive repairs have been completed in both areas, with the road now ready for vehicle movement, according to Pushkar Prasad Pokharel, director of Bagmati Province’s Transport Infrastructure Directorate.
“The sections from Hetauda to Kulekhani Dam and from Fakhel to Pharping are already open for vehicles,” said Pokharel, “but due to potential risks, we are only allowing traffic from Sunday evening.”
With the road’s reopening, vehicles can now travel from Hetauda to Kathmandu via the Hetauda-Bhimphedi-Kulekhani-Fakhel-Pharping route. Traffic heading to Thankot can also utilize the Kulekhani-Bhimphedi-Chakhel-Matatirtha route.
The Sisneri-Dakshinkali-Pharping road is also expected to open within the next two days.
Meanwhile, the Nepal Army is working diligently to repair the Bagmati bridge and its access road, with the Kanti Highway expected to resume operations soon.
