**Palm Desert, CA** – The Los Angeles Lakers’ highly anticipated rookie duo, Bronny James and Dalton Knecht, made their preseason debut on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Acrisure Arena.

Bronny James, son of Lakers superstar LeBron James, showcased his defensive prowess with two blocks and an assist in just six minutes of first-half action. One particular highlight saw him block a shot, leading to a fast break assist for Rui Hachimura.

Meanwhile, Knecht impressed offensively, showcasing a smooth mid-range jumper for his first two points. He finished the first half with six points, a steal, and a block in his allotted six minutes.

Over the full game, Knecht led all Lakers scorers with 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting, adding three rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block. While impressive, he did commit a game-high five turnovers. James, on the other hand, finished with two points on 1-of-6 shooting, a rebound, an assist, and a game-high three blocks in 16 minutes.

Despite the impressive rookie performances, the Lakers ultimately lost the game 124-107. Timberwolves rookie Rob Dillingham stood out for the victors, scoring 21 points and dishing out four assists in 25 minutes off the bench.

Though it’s still early days, both Lakers rookies displayed promising signs that have generated significant excitement among fans. Some observers believe Bronny James has the potential to be a defensive stalwart, while many see Dalton Knecht carving out a role in the Lakers rotation.

The Lakers will continue their preseason campaign on Sunday against the Phoenix Suns at 9:30 p.m. ET, again at Acrisure Arena.
