Sun Oct 06 03:45:00 UTC 2024: ## CSI Soccer Teams Split Weekend Results, Men Snap Losing Streak

**TWIN FALLS -** The College of Southern Idaho men’s and women’s soccer teams had a busy weekend, with the men’s team claiming a much-needed victory while the women’s team battled to a draw.

The men’s team, led by assistant coach Andrew Zaleski due to head coach Alex Ferreira’s suspension, secured a 1-0 win over Truckee Meadows Community College. This victory snapped a four-game losing streak for the Golden Eagles. The decisive goal came from Marvin Jaeger, a 6-foot-2 defender who scored his first collegiate goal with a header in the 61st minute.

The women’s team, also coached by Zaleski, fought to a 1-1 tie against Truckee Meadows. Despite falling behind in the 11th minute, the Golden Eagles earned the equalizer in the 53rd minute thanks to a goal from freshman Jayva Hicks. Hicks, a Twin Falls native, has been a standout player for the Golden Eagles this season, scoring her fourth goal of the year.

Both teams were dealing with less-than-ideal circumstances heading into the weekend. The men’s team was missing four players due to suspension, while the women’s team struggled to find their offensive rhythm. Despite the challenges, both teams showed resilience and determination on the pitch.

The men’s team will look to build on their win, while the women’s team will seek to improve their attacking play. Both squads will have opportunities to do just that as the Scenic West Athletic Conference season continues.
