Fri Oct 04 21:08:25 UTC 2024: ## Verona Edge Out Venezia in Thrilling Serie A Encounter

Hellas Verona secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Venezia at the Stadio Bentegodi on Friday night, climbing to 10th in the Serie A table. The win came thanks to goals from Casper Tengstedt and a Jesse Joronen own goal, despite Gaetano Oristanio’s early opener for the visitors.

Venezia took the lead within the first two minutes when Hans Nicolussi Caviglia’s corner found Oristanio, who slotted home with a precise finish. However, Verona quickly responded, equalizing in the 9th minute through Tengstedt. The Dane started the move and finished it in style, volleying a pass from Daniel Mosquera into the back of the net.

The game remained evenly balanced until the 87th minute when Verona snatched the lead. Darko Lazovic’s deep cross found Grigoris Kastanos, whose header was unfortunately deflected into his own net by the outstretched hand of Venezia’s goalkeeper, Joronen.

The victory was a welcome boost for Verona, who had lost four of their first six matches. Venezia, on the other hand, remain stuck in the relegation zone, with only four points from seven games. The international break will give both teams a chance to regroup and strategize for the remaining matches of the season.
