**New Delhi, October 5, 2024:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released the 18th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan) in a ceremony held in Washim, Maharashtra. Over 9.4 crore farmer beneficiaries across the country received ₹2,000 each, totaling a massive transfer of ₹20,000 crore.

The Prime Minister began the day by offering prayers at the Jagdamba Mata temple in Pohradevi, Washim, followed by paying respects at the samadhis of Sant Sewalal Maharaj and Sant Ramrao Maharaj.

This installment marks the 18th disbursement under the PM-Kisan scheme, which was launched on December 1, 2018, with the aim of providing financial assistance to landholding farmer families across the country. The scheme provides ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmers in three installments of ₹2,000 each.

The PM-Kisan scheme has been instrumental in bolstering the agricultural sector and supporting the incomes of millions of farmers nationwide.
