**New Delhi, October 5th, 2024:** Exit polls conducted in the recently concluded Haryana Assembly elections suggest a landslide victory for the Congress Party. The Peoples Pulse survey predicts a comfortable win for Congress with 55 seats, while the BJP is projected to secure 26 seats.
According to the survey, the Congress is poised to secure a 7-8% lead in votes over the BJP, indicating strong public support. The Congress is likely to secure around 45% of the vote share, while the BJP is projected to secure 38%. The INLD-BSP alliance is predicted to gain 5.2% of the vote share, with the AAP and JJP trailing behind with 1% and below, respectively.
The exit polls also suggest that the Congress is favored in terms of public perception regarding the Chief Ministerial candidate. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Congress CLP leader, is projected to win with 39% support, followed by sitting Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini with 28%.
The exit polls highlight the potential impact of local issues on the election outcome. They suggest that the performance of local MLAs, infrastructure development, and local concerns played a crucial role in voter decisions. National issues like unemployment, the Agniveer scheme, farmers’ issues, and inflation were also key concerns for the electorate.
The survey also reveals a strong anti-incumbency sentiment against the BJP, particularly amongst farmers, wrestlers, and youth.
