**NATCHEZ, MS** – Doris A. Tillotson, 87, of Natchez, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Liberty Community Living Center in Liberty. A loving mother and grandmother, she was known for her passion for gardening, bowling, and playing “Cooties.” A faithful member of Washington Baptist Church, Tillotson dedicated her life to serving the Lord.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Laird Funeral Home Chapel, with her son, Pastor Howard Collier officiating. Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Born on January 13, 1937, Tillotson was the daughter of Ernest W. Calcote and Estelle Wood and grew up in Franklin County. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Howard Collier and Venson Tillotson, grandson Colby Collier, two brothers, B. L. and Robert Calcote, and one sister, Gladys Mitchell.

She is survived by her children, Deborah McDaniel (Lloyd), Donna Green, Marlene Freeman (Larry), and Howard Collier (Stephanie); nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Caleb Collier, Micah Collier, Kendall Collier, Josiah Collier, Shae Collier, and Chase Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughter, Courtney Freeman, grandsons Lee Knapp and Mac McDaniel, and her nephew Wayne Calcote.
