Sat Oct 05 00:54:17 UTC 2024: ## Delhi’s Former CM Kejriwal Vacates Official Residence Amidst BJP Protest
**New Delhi:** Arvind Kejriwal, the former Chief Minister of Delhi and convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has vacated his official residence after occupying it for the past nine years. Kejriwal, along with his family, left the residence on Friday, handing over the keys to government officials.
The move comes amidst a protest by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers who alleged that Kejriwal had been illegally occupying a bungalow allotted to an AAP Rajya Sabha MP, Ashok Mittal. The BJP leader, Vijay Goel, announced that he would file a complaint with the Rajya Sabha chairman regarding the matter.
Kejriwal and his family have now moved into a bungalow in Ferozeshah Road, Lutyens, which is located near the AAP’s central office.
The AAP maintains that the move was made to facilitate Kejriwal’s political activities and that the bungalow was not meant for permanent residence. However, the BJP has called it a “desperate attempt” to avoid accountability and further criticized Kejriwal for his “unjustified” use of government resources.
