The men’s division will see eight teams battle it out in Rourkela, while six women’s teams will compete in Ranchi. The player auction for the upcoming season will be held from October 13th to 15th.
The HIL, which first launched in 2013, ran for five seasons before going on hiatus.
Adding to the excitement, the Delhi franchise of the HIL announced renowned goalkeeper P.R. Sreejesh as their director on Friday.
With a fresh format and a revitalized focus on promoting hockey in India, the return of the HIL is expected to generate significant buzz among fans and athletes alike.
