Wed Oct 02 23:25:42 UTC 2024: ## Ancelotti Denounces Violence, Calls Simeone’s Comments a “Distraction”

**Madrid, Spain** – Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has condemned the violence that marred the recent Madrid derby, calling for the removal of individuals engaging in such behavior from football stadiums.

Ancelotti’s remarks come in response to Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone’s comments, in which Simeone called for sanctions against Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois for allegedly “provoking” the Atletico fans who threw objects at him during the match.

Ancelotti rejected Simeone’s suggestion, stating that focusing on Courtois is a “distraction” from the real issue: the violent actions of a small group of fans. “There were violent acts, and those who engage in violence should not be on a football field or in society,” Ancelotti emphasized during a press conference.

The LaLiga match was briefly suspended after objects were thrown at Courtois following Real Madrid’s opening goal. While Simeone acknowledged the need for action against the offending fans, he also suggested that players and coaches have a responsibility to prevent such incidents from occurring.

Ancelotti, however, firmly rejected this notion, reiterating his belief that violence has no place in football. “Football doesn’t need these kinds of people. They should stay where they are not a threat. It’s better if the violent ones leave us alone,” he concluded.

The incident has sparked a debate about player behavior and fan conduct in football, with both managers expressing contrasting views on the matter. While Ancelotti focused on the need for strong action against violence, Simeone suggested that players and coaches also have a responsibility to de-escalate situations.
