Tue Oct 01 07:36:53 UTC 2024: ## Arunachal Pradesh Urged to Embrace Cluster Development for MSME Growth
**ITANAGAR, INDIA -** Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday emphasized the need for cluster development in Arunachal Pradesh to boost the productivity and competitiveness of micro and small enterprises (MSEs). Speaking at a credit outreach program organized by the State Bank of India, Sitharaman pointed out that the state currently lacks any officially recognized clusters despite having 20 GI-identified products.
“I request Chief Minister Pema Khandu to take up the cluster development approach for these 20 GI-identified products,” said Sitharaman, highlighting the potential of such clusters to attract investment and support from organizations like SIDBI.
The Finance Minister emphasized the importance of the cluster development approach, which is widely adopted by the MSME Ministry to enhance competitiveness and productivity. This approach involves establishing common facility centers (CFCs) to support the growth and sustainability of MSEs.
Sitharaman also highlighted the various government schemes, including PM SVANidhi, Stand-up India, Kisan Credit Card, PM MUDRA, NRLM-SHG, PM Surya Ghar and PMEGP, available for supporting entrepreneurs in Arunachal Pradesh. She underscored the accessibility of these schemes, which require no guarantee and aim to simplify access to bank loans.
The Finance Minister’s visit also included the handover of an ambulance and a hearse van to the police headquarters, 50 bicycles to girl students, two demonstration vans for financial literacy, and a mobile medical unit.
Sitharaman also participated in a credit outreach program in Namsai, where she inaugurated an SBI regional office.
