Wed Oct 02 17:46:09 UTC 2024: ## Amit Shah Vows to Pass Waqf Amendment Bill, Assures Haryana’s Development Ahead of Elections
**Gurugram, Haryana**: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday promised to pass the Waqf Amendment Bill during the upcoming winter session of Parliament, while also assuring continued development for Haryana ahead of the state assembly elections.
Addressing rallies in Badshahpur and Indri, Shah intensified his attack on the opposition Congress, accusing them of making empty promises and failing to deliver on their guarantees in states they govern. He specifically pointed to Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana, where the Congress had promised various benefits but failed to deliver.
He further attacked the Congress’s record, labelling them as “anti-poor,” “anti-Dalits,” “anti-youngsters,” and “anti-farmers.” He alleged that the Congress had failed to implement “One Rank, One Pension” for soldiers, despite repeated demands, and that it was the Modi-led government that finally fulfilled this promise in 2015.
Shah also defended the Agnipath scheme, calling Rahul Gandhi a “lying machine” for claiming that Agniveers would not get jobs after their service. He reassured potential recruits that Haryana and the Centre will provide pensionable jobs to every Agniveer, ensuring no one is left without employment.
With a focus on Haryana’s development, Shah emphasized the BJP’s commitment to the state’s progress, claiming that a “double-engine” government (BJP in power at both the Centre and state) is essential for its prosperity. He also assured the electorate that the BJP will secure the country’s borders, protect reservations, and never allow the return of Article 370.
Shah expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory in the upcoming elections, claiming to have sensed a “positive atmosphere” across Haryana. He predicted a “hat-trick” of poll wins for the saffron party in the state.
