Hyderabad: Telangana’s Forests and Environment Minister Konda Surekha has launched a scathing attack on Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President, K.T. Rama Rao, alleging he was responsible for the separation of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

Speaking to the media, Surekha accused K.T. Rama Rao of being behind several actresses leaving films and marrying early. She also alleged that he was addicted to drugs and used them to blackmail film personalities.

The Congress leader further claimed that K.T. Rama Rao orchestrated a recent offensive social media post against her, blaming him for inciting BRS workers to target her with derogatory comments. She expressed outrage at the disrespectful treatment towards a woman from a Backward Class.

Surekha also pointed out similar derogatory posts made against Minister Seethakka and Greater Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi.

She recounted her emotional distress at a previous press conference while discussing online abuse following an incident with BJP leader M. Raghunandan Rao. Rao had placed a garland around her neck, triggering a wave of derogatory posts on social media.

Surekha condemned BRS leaders for using this incident to demean her, highlighting the blatant disregard for her gender. She questioned their silence on similar incidents involving BRS MLC, K. Kavitha, K.T. Rama Rao’s sister.

The minister demanded an apology from BRS senior leader T. Harish Rao, as the accused individual using social media was using his photo as a display picture.

Surekha has filed a complaint against those posting derogatory comments against her.
