**Plains, Georgia** – Former President Jimmy Carter, the first former U.S. president to reach the milestone of 100 years old, celebrated his birthday on Tuesday, surrounded by family and receiving well wishes from current and former presidents.
President Joe Biden, who served as the first sitting senator to endorse Carter’s 1976 presidential campaign, praised the former president as “a moral force for our nation and the world.” He highlighted Carter’s “hopeful vision” for the country and his “unwavering belief in the power of human goodness,” calling him a “guiding light.”

Carter, who entered hospice care at his home in Plains, Georgia, 19 months ago, continues to be politically active and even expressed his desire to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election.
