Wed Oct 02 17:16:42 UTC 2024: ## Bengaluru FC Aim for First Away Win Against Struggling Mumbai City
**Mumbai, October 1 (IANS)** – Bengaluru FC, riding a wave of success with a perfect start to the Indian Super League season, will face a crucial test on Wednesday when they travel to Mumbai to take on the struggling Mumbai City FC.
The Blues, currently top of the table with nine points from three games, have impressed with their defensive solidity, keeping three clean sheets in the process. However, assistant coach Renedy Singh cautioned against complacency ahead of the away fixture.
“We know Mumbai City FC are a good team,” said Singh. “Our record so far this season won’t guarantee anything on Wednesday. We need to focus on doing our best against them.”
Bengaluru will be without midfielder Shivaldo Singh, who is still recovering from a fracture sustained during the Durand Cup. The team will rely on the form of Edgar Mendez, who was instrumental in their 3-0 win against Mohun Bagan Super Giant on Saturday.
Mumbai City, who won the ISL Cup last year, have had a disappointing start to the season, drawing 2-2 against Bagan and losing 3-2 to Jamshedpur FC. They currently sit 11th in the table with just one point from two games.
The Islanders will be hoping their strikeforce of Lallianzuala Chhangte and Nikos Karelis can turn the tide in their favor, with support from Yoell van Nieff and Thaer Krouma. They will face a formidable challenge against Bengaluru’s league-best defense, marshaled by Rahul Bheke.
The match also marks the return of Alberto Noguera and Jorge Pereyra Diaz to the Mumbai Football Arena, having both moved to Bengaluru FC from Mumbai City this season.
The clash promises to be an exciting encounter as Bengaluru aim to maintain their winning momentum on the road, while Mumbai City looks to salvage their season with a much-needed victory.
