**Mysuru, October 1, 2024:** Coffee growers from Karnataka’s major coffee-producing districts of Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, and Kodagu celebrated International Coffee Day in Mysuru on Tuesday. This marked the first time coffee planters from these regions united to organize an event dedicated to the beverage for the city’s coffee enthusiasts.
The event, inaugurated by Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami of Suttur Mutt, saw the participation of association office bearers and coffee growers. The primary aim was to raise awareness about the health benefits of coffee consumption and highlight challenges faced by the coffee industry.
The program included a detailed history of coffee cultivation in Karnataka, showcasing its growth and expansion over the years. To encourage coffee consumption, the organizers distributed free coffee to tourists, participants, and attendees. Stalls were set up to serve various coffee brews throughout the event.
