**Mumbai, India** – GE Power India Limited (GEPIL) has secured a substantial international contract valued at approximately ₹2,404 million plus NPR 340 million from Blue Energy Limited. This agreement entails the design, engineering, and supply of equipment for the 100MW Super Trishuli hydropower project in Nepal.
GEPIL will be responsible for providing turbines, generators, and control systems, and will also oversee their installation and commissioning. The contract spans a duration of 42 months and represents a significant expansion of GE’s hydropower presence in the region.
While GEPIL received the order, the execution will be undertaken by GE Vernova Hydro Power India Private Limited, formerly known as GE Power Electronics (India) Private Limited. This follows a previous business transfer agreement that transferred GEPIL’s hydro business undertaking.
The contract does not involve any transactions or interests related to GEPIL’s promoter groups.
The news of this significant contract led to a positive reaction in the stock market. Shares of GEPIL were trading at ₹402.50, up by ₹7.45 or 1.89 per cent on the BSE at 2.20 pm.
