**Shillong, Meghalaya (October 1, 2024):** The Expert Committee on the State Reservation Policy will be conducting public hearings across Meghalaya to gather feedback on the proposed policy. The hearings will take place in Shillong, Tura, and Williamnagar, beginning on October 3rd.

The Committee, chaired by retired Justice Mool Chand Garg, has invited stakeholders to share their views and suggestions on the proposed policy. The public hearings in Shillong will be held at the State Convention Centre on October 3rd from 9 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm. Dates and locations for the Tura and Williamnagar hearings will be announced shortly.

The Committee requests stakeholders to bring relevant documents in support of their petitions to the public hearing on October 3rd.

This move follows the Committee’s recent consultations with various stakeholders in the state, including community leaders and organizations. The public hearings are expected to provide further valuable input for the finalization of the State Reservation Policy.
