**Patna, October 2, 2023:** Election strategist Prashant Kishor officially launched his new political party, “Jan Suraj Party,” in Patna on Gandhi Jayanti. The party, previously known as the “Jan Suraj” organization, aims to contest all seats in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections scheduled within a year.
Kishor announced the launch at a massive rally held at the Patna Veterinary College ground. Former Foreign Service officer Manoj Bharti will lead the party.
Kishor outlined the party’s key agenda, focusing on tackling societal challenges like migration, unemployment, and poverty. The party promises to provide job opportunities for youth and increase social pensions for the poor.
Addressing the crowd, Kishor criticized the current political landscape, stating that Bihar voters have been limited to choosing between the RJD and BJP for the past 25-30 years. He advocated for a new party that is not a family-run entity but one formed by the people.
Kishor’s move comes after his reported differences with Bihar Chief Minister and JDU leader Nitish Kumar. While there were speculations of Kishor joining hands with Congress, these did not materialize. He had earlier expressed his criticism of Congress’s inability to address its organizational issues.
