**Hyderabad:** A political firestorm has erupted in Telangana after a state minister, Konda Surekha, accused K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the working president of the ruling BRS party, of being behind the divorce of popular Tollywood actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya.
Surekha claimed that KTR had pressured the Akkineni family to separate Samantha and Chaitanya, alleging KTR had blackmailed the family by threatening to demolish their property if they didn’t comply. She also accused KTR of using his influence to manipulate young actresses, alleging involvement in drug use and rave parties.
KTR has vehemently denied these allegations, calling them “false” and “baseless.” He questioned Surekha’s motives and accused her of making similar unfounded accusations in the past.
The actor and film producer, Akkineni Nagarjuna, has also condemned Surekha’s statements. He stated that he would not involve himself in any political controversy and requested Surekha to refrain from using his family’s personal lives for political gain.
The allegations have shaken the Telangana political landscape and the Tollywood film industry. With both sides maintaining their claims, the truth behind the accusations remains unclear.
