**Udupi:** A massive rally and convention to raise awareness against addiction, spearheaded by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, will be held on October 2nd at the Sri Krishna Math’s Rajangana in Udupi.
This initiative, organized by the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Gramābhivruddhi Yojana B.C. Trust Udupi District and Akhila Karnataka Janajagruti Vedike Trust Udupi District, is expected to attract thousands of participants.
The rally will begin at 9:30 am from Jodukatte and will culminate at the Rajangana, passing through major city routes. The event will feature 30-35 bhajana teams, colorful tableaux, and is expected to draw a crowd of 9,000 to 10,000.
Following the rally, a convention will be held at the Rajangana at 11 am, with the inauguration by Paryaya Puttige Math’s Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji. The event will be presided over by Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade.
Distinguished guests include religious thinker Damodara Sharma Barakooru, who will deliver the keynote address, along with Anil Kumar S.S., Chief Executive Officer of Dharmasthala Gramābhivruddhi Yojana, Appanna Hegde, founder president of the Janajagruti Vedike, and Dr. P.V. Bhandari, Vedike Trustee. Other prominent figures like R.B. Hebballi, Devidas Hebbar, Naveen Amin, Satyananda Naik, Duggegowda, and Vivek V. Payas will also attend.
The event aims to mobilize the community in the fight against addiction, fostering a society free from harmful habits.
