**Hyderabad:** A political storm has erupted in Telangana after Minister Konda Surekha made shocking allegations against BRS Working President KTR, drawing sharp condemnation from actor Nagarjuna.
Surekha, known for her fiery speeches, alleged that KTR’s conduct had caused distress among some individuals in the film industry, with certain heroines quitting the industry and others opting for early marriages. She also accused KTR of being addicted to drugs and influencing others to use them, organizing rave parties, and manipulating their lives through blackmail.
Going further, Surekha sensationally claimed that KTR was responsible for the separation of Samantha and Naga Chaitanya, a claim met with widespread disbelief and anger.
Reacting strongly to Surekha’s allegations, Nagarjuna took to Twitter to denounce the minister’s remarks. He termed her statements as baseless and condemned the use of personal lives of those unconnected with politics for political gains. He urged the minister to respect the privacy of individuals and retract her claims.
“I strongly condemn the remarks made by Hon’ble Minister Smt. Konda Surekha. Please refrain from using the lives of film personalities who are away from politics and using them to criticize your opponents. Please respect the personal lives of fellow human beings,” Nagarjuna wrote in his tweet.
Surekha’s allegations, however, stem from her own complaint of alleged derogatory posts targeting her as a BC woman on social media. She accused KTR of instigating such attacks by instructing party workers to spread misinformation and slander against her.
Surekha’s statement has stirred controversy, with many criticizing her for dragging personal lives into the political fray. The incident highlights the increasing use of social media for political attacks and raises concerns about the ethics of such tactics.
