**New Delhi:** In a major drug bust, Delhi Police have seized approximately 500 kilograms of cocaine worth an estimated Rs 2000 crore. Four alleged smugglers have been apprehended in connection with the case.
The seizure was made following a series of separate incidents across the city. On Sunday, two Afghan nationals were apprehended in the Tilak Nagar area with 400 grams of heroin and 160 grams of cocaine. On the same day, Delhi Customs officials seized 1660 grams of cocaine from a passenger at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The passenger, a Liberian national, was allegedly smuggling the drugs from Dubai to Delhi. The seized cocaine is estimated to be worth around Rs 24.90 crore.
Delhi Police suspect an international drug smuggling syndicate to be behind the racket. Investigations are underway to identify the network and its operations.
This seizure highlights the growing challenge of drug trafficking in India and the efforts being made by authorities to combat it.
