**Chennai:** Superstar Rajinikanth underwent a successful surgical procedure at Apollo Hospital in Chennai on Tuesday, after experiencing severe abdominal pain. The veteran actor was admitted to the hospital late Monday night, prompting concern among his fans worldwide.

A team of doctors led by Cardiologist Dr. Sai Sathish performed a minimally invasive procedure to place a stent in the lower abdominal area. According to sources, the procedure was successful and Rajinikanth is currently recovering well under observation.
