**Antikkad:** A police officer, SI V.P. Aristotle, was assaulted by Akhil (28), a resident of Arimboor Kaipilli, at the Antikkad police station on Monday evening. The incident occurred around 6:30 pm. Akhil, who was summoned to the station in connection with a road accident, reportedly attacked the officer while being questioned.
SI Aristotle sustained injuries to his nose and sought treatment at the Alappad Community Health Center. CPO Vinod was also reportedly injured in the attack. Akhil has been taken into police custody.
The incident highlights the growing danger faced by law enforcement officers in the line of duty.
