Mon Sep 30 23:05:53 UTC 2024: ## Telangana Government to Release 11,062 Teacher Appointment Letters by Dussehra
**Hyderabad:** The Telangana government, under the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, has announced that appointment letters for 11,062 teachers will be issued by Dussehra, marking a significant step towards addressing the teacher shortage in the state.
The announcement came following the release of the results of the District Selection Committee (DSC) exam conducted between July 18th and August 5th. The exam saw a participation of over 2.45 lakh candidates, with a remarkable 87.61% attendance rate.
Speaking after the announcement, the Chief Minister criticized the previous BRS government for only issuing a DSC notification once every 10 years, resulting in the filling of just 7,857 posts in the past decade. He highlighted the negligence towards quality education during their tenure, emphasizing the lack of priority given to the education sector.
The current Congress government, however, has taken the initiative to address the situation, initiating the teacher recruitment process upon assuming power. CM Rao highlighted the dedication of the government to the education sector and the swiftness in releasing the DSC results, stating that the entire process, from exam to appointment, would be completed within 65 days.
The government is committed to making quality education accessible to all, especially the underprivileged, and aims to fill 60,000 vacant positions in the first year alone. The government is also set to release the results of Group 1 exams soon, further contributing to the fight against unemployment.
This decision is a major boost for the education sector and a testament to the Congress government’s commitment to strengthening the educational system in Telangana.
